4+1 Program

Earn your undergraduate and graduate degrees faster – in 4+1 years

Students at Jakes Divinity School may now take advantage of the accelerated 4+1 program, powered by our partner school, North Central University. This is a rigorous five-year option to students who are interested in earing their undergraduate and graduate studies degrees quickly.

As an undergraduate senior student, you may enroll in two* 500-level courses in the Masters in Strategic Leadership graduate program that will help you get a head-start on your graduate studies.

*Some undergraduate majors are eligible to enroll in up to three graduate studies courses during the undergraduate senior year.

Undergraduate students who are interested in the 4+1 program must meet the minimum requirements of:

  • 90 credit hours accumulated at the time of their first graduate course
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above
  • Interview and approval by the program director

Leadership Certificate option

  • Nine credit undergraduate certificate for students approved for the 4+1 Program
  • Take any nine credits of 500-level graduate studies courses
  • Courses will apply to both the undergraduate Leadership Certificate and the master’s program degree requirements
  • Courses cannot be double-counted to also meet undergraduate major core degree requirements

Paul Quinn College (PQC), founded in 1872 by a group of African Methodist Episcopal Church preachers, is a private, four-year, faith-based, liberal arts-inspired Historically Black College. Paul Quinn College is accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS). Paul Quinn College is affiliated with the Association of Institutions of Higher Education of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Jakes Divinity School (JDS) and Paul Quinn College (PQC) are developing a new Executive Master of Business Administration degree program for business executives, entrepreneurs, and Christian leaders. Pending Board approval, JDS and PQC will launch the eMBA program fall 2021. Because the eMBA degree is powered by Paul Quinn College in partnership with Jakes Divinity School, it will be a fully accredited eMBA.

Jakes Divinity School is grateful for the partners. As a new institution for higher learning, JDS has not yet achieved is own accreditation. Students are dually enrolled in Jakes Divinity School and one of our partnering institution based on the particular degree program in which a student is enrolled. Students earn fully accredited degrees from a respective partnering institution as well as frame-worthy diplomas from Jakes Divinity School.
