Dr. Nichole Renée Phillips is the Associate Professor in the Practice of Religion and Society and Director of Black Church Studies at Candler School of Theology, Emory University. A sociologist of religion and public intellectual, she is also a Senior Faculty Fellow at Emory University’s Center for Ethics and Associate Faculty in the Emory’s Department of Sociology. Her academic interest in church and American society led to her first monograph, Patriotism Black and White: The Color of American Exceptionalism landing on the Best Sellers List for the Christian ecumenical and flagship magazine of U.S. mainline Protestants, The Christian Century in 2019.
A recipient of numerous recognitions, honors, and awards, Dr. Phillips was initiated into The Society for the Study of Black Religion (SSBR) in Spring 2018. In 2019, she was inducted into the Martin Luther King, Jr. International College of Ministers and Laity, and as a member of the Collegium of Scholars at Morehouse College.
Presently, she is pursuing Executive Education in the EMBA, class of 2025 program, at Goizueta Business School, Emory University. She received the A.B. from Wellesley College, an M.Div. from Harvard University’s Divinity School and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Religion, Psychology, and Culture with a minor in anthropology of religion from Vanderbilt University.
Reverend Dr. Phillips is also an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, coming out of the New England Annual Conference in the First Episcopal District and serving on ministerial staff in churches throughout New England and the Southeast. She is presently part of the North Atlanta Georgia Annual Conference in the Sixth Episcopal District.
Terrell Fletcher is a former NFL running back turned motivational speaker, faith leader, community advocate, professor, and author. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he overcame a severe asthmatic condition and an undersized frame to play sports (both wrestling and football). After high school, he was awarded an athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Terrell earned numerous team and individual accolades, including winning the 1994 Rose Bowl and the 1995 Outback Bowl (the latter of which he earned the Most Valuable Player honor). In 1995, the San Diego Chargers selected Terrell as a second-round draft pick. After eight years, he retired from the San Diego Chargers as an important part of the team’s success.
In 2003, Terrell founded the City of Hope International Church, which grew to over 2000 members and contributed to many community service initiatives. Also, paying it forward to emerging athletes as the Chargers chaplain for many years to follow. Terrell became a fixture in the southern California faith and business communities. With his eight (8) years of professional football, six (6) years of international missions and youth service, and seventeen (17) years of pastoral/community service, he is positioned to be a resounding voice for this generation. This professional experience within community and faith empowered him to challenge leaders. He coaches executives, business owners, athletes, and entertainers on how to maximize their parts to produce wins in their personal lives, companies, and communities. “My desire is for the listeners to connect their head with their heart and produce good products with a purposeful perspective in mind.”
Terrell holds a doctorate in transformational leadership, a master’s degree in religious studies, and a bachelor’s degree in English literature.
Terrell is married and has three children, Kya, Kory, and Kingston.

A distinguished educator, life strategist, mentor, author, and speaker, Dr. Felisha Ford is a native of Montgomery, AL. She currently resides in Grapevine, Texas with her husband, Bishop Demetrius Ford and their two sons.
She holds postsecondary degrees in counseling and psychology from Alabama A&M University (Bachelor of Arts), Troy University (Master of Arts), and Capella University (Doctor of Philosophy).
Dr. Ford’s professional career includes nearly 20 years of experience as a higher education administrator. She is currently serving as Dean/Interim President at Jakes Divinity School. She is well-versed in guiding students along the path of academic achievement and personal and career development. She has also effectively led teams in the development, execution, and assessment of strategic plans and student success initiatives to increase persistence, retention, and completion rates. Her work ethic embodies professionalism, excellence, quality, productivity, and accountability.
Even though Dr. Ford esteems educational and professional opportunities as blessings from God, she realizes that there is a much higher calling and opportunity that God presents to us in life and that is to serve Him and others and to be obedient to His divine calling. In the execution of her obedience to God and through the leading and empowerment of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Ford has been fulfilling her divine call in ministry in various capacities including becoming licensed as a minister (1999) and ordained as an elder (2001); co-founding and co-pastoring a church for 12 years alongside her husband; and empowering women and serving her community through her Women of Excellence ministry for over a decade which has included empowerment and mentoring sessions, annual conferences, outreach efforts, and scholarships.
Dr. Ford has enjoyed sharing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ at numerous services, conferences, and events in her local community and across the nation. She has also had the privilege of sharing on Trinity Broadcasting Network (Montgomery) on two memorable occasions. She is currently serving in ministry at The Potter’s House North Dallas under the leadership of Bishop Joby and Pastor Sheryl Brady.

She is the Senior Principal Consultant and Owner of InsightFuelEd, LLC, a educational consulting practice that trains and coaches individuals and organizations in the areas of Organizational Change, Leadership Development and Diversity Equity & Inclusion.
As an award-wining educator and global leader, she has pioneered a Women’s Institute for Global Leadership and created a masters degree in leadership for women for a liberal arts university in Illinois. In 2019, Dr. House was elected to represent the UNAUSA on the United Nations Women 63rd Commission on the Status of Women. In 2021, Dr. House received an Exceptional Leader Award for the work she has done in Chicago’s marginalized communities. Dr. House embarked upon a joint mission to minister to the people of Haiti and an independent mission project to serve the people of Kenya in Njoro, Nakuru, Limuru, Narok and Rrotian Village. Also, she was one of 15 elite female leaders from across the United States, chosen to participate in Leadership America’s international leadership program in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, where she met with various leaders of the middle east, including the Chief Economist.

Stu Cocanougher serves at the Share Strategy Pastor at Southcliff Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Stu has been at Southcliff for more than 20 years where he leads Southcliff’s outreach, evangelism, and missions ministries. Stu oversees numerous ministries to internationals and has led Southcliff to become a multicultural church with members from a wide variety of ethnicities and backgrounds. Stu has led mission trips to numerous locations including Zambia, Serbia, Spain, China, and Laos. Before coming to Southcliff, Stu served at churches in Texas, Washington D.C., England, and the Philippines.
Stu is a graduate of the Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Global Perspectives program at George Fox University. His dissertation focused on helping local churches reach out to immigrants (tinyurl.com/rethinkmissions). Stu’s book, “Reaching the World Across the Street,” is under contract by Urban Loft Publishing. His wife, Jana, is an elementary school librarian and they have two adult children.
Dr. Jamie Johnson is the associate dean for worship programs and an adjunct professor in the College of Christian Studies. He has studied church history (MA) and Christian education (PhD) and hungers to learn more about what it means for individuals and communities to follow Jesus in every aspect of life. He is married to Erin, a social work professor at George Fox University, and together they have three children. In his spare time, Jamie enjoys leading worship, running, reading and coaching his children’s soccer and baseball teams.
Rev. Dr. Jamale Kempt is an ordained gospel preacher as well as a multi-licensed educator in the state of Texas. She is a graduate of Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She holds the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (Texas Southern University), the Master of Education in Administration (Texas Southern University), the Master of Divinity (Houston Graduate School of Theology) and the Doctor of Ministry in Semiotics (Portland Seminary) under the lead professor Len Sweet. Her experience in church ministry includes Senior Pastor, Youth and Children’s Pastor, Praise and Worship Leader, Ministry Organizer, and Teacher Trainer. She has completed the Proclaimers Place Seminar at Baylor University. As an educator Dr. Kempt has experience as a Classroom Teacher, Campus Administrator, Instructional Coach, Teacher Development Specialist, and Curriculum Writer.
Serving as the Founder and Lead Consultant for Platforma Ministries, Dr. Kempt serves with a heart for God and a desire to help others lead in ministry. With academic excellence and professionalism, she uses her gifts of preaching and teaching to encourage, uplift and instruct ministers and ministry teams desiring to give God their very best.
Dr. Kempt currently serves in ministry — as an associate minister at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, WABC Bible Study Facilitator (Sugar Land), a faculty member of the Opened Bible Academy, a Steering Committee member for the African American Preaching Conference with Baylor University’s Truett Seminary, a member of the Baptist Minister’s Conference of Texas, a member of the Texas Baptist Women in Ministry, a charter member of the Global Church Network and a convener of The Women on the Front Line Conference.

Rev. Dr. Kempt a proclaimer of the gospel in word and song. She has recorded a solo album entitled “All I Want to Do”, that expresses her desire to praise God in any and every situation. She has a published book of sermons entitled “Learning How to Lean”, an in site on how Dr. Kempt trust and depends on God to guide her through life’s daily changes.
My name is Al J. McGilvery and I am a current student at Jakes Divinity School (JDS), where I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theology. My interest in pursuing this opportunity is because I believe that in order to be of better help to someone, you must first help yourself. As far as my career goes I am a musician and minister who is seeking to better serve my surroundings concerning the knowledge I am obtaining. What inspired me to do this all is really hard to explain in a good way, but I will say I know the Lord has led me here to this table because I had other plans. Dr. Thomas S. Cooper was called to be a minister of the gospel in 1993. Over the past 25 years he has committed his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and the work of the ministry. Within that time, Dr. Cooper has worked endlessly to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through various avenues of ministry. Dr. Cooper has been commissioned to take God’s word into the land so that His people can be healed and know that there is victory in Jesus. He aims to impart into the heart of men and women that no matter what the problem, you can be delivered from it
In his quest to pursue education and biblical training, he has earned one secular degree and three accredited theological degrees. He was a student, then faculty member at the Hugee Theological Institute in New York City serving as an undergraduate instructor in Biblical Studies. He has since received his Doctorate in Theology from the Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia in August 2014. He is now the president of the Inspired Word Bible College – School of Ministry & Leadership located in the Bronx NY.
Adding to this list of achievements, Dr. Cooper is a published author. In May 2017 he re-released the deluxe addition of his first book entitled “The Process for the Product – Enduring the Season of Spiritual Maturity” where he shares insight through his personal experiences as well as the process of spiritual maturity.
Dr. Cooper is married to the beautiful Lynnette Cooper, the father of two wonderful daughters Lynna’Sha Victoria and Tyla Syrae’ and resides in Orange county New York. Presently, he serves as Senior Pastor of Kingdom Life Temple in the Bronx, New York. He attributes his achievements to the Lord whom he affirms is his strength and faithfully declares, “Without God, I would be nothing”.
